Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of animation do you make?

Here at Studio Orca, we work across many techniques and styles. We really believe in tailoring the animation to the brief, and choosing a style and technique that best serves the story being told. We work mostly in 2D hand-drawn animation, but also CGI (using either Blender or Maya), Motion Graphics, live-action puppetry, stop-motion, miniature models, and hybrid mixed-media techniques such as combininng animation with live-action footage.

What services do you offer?

Studio Orca is an animation studio that creates animation for brands, broadcasters and agencies. We offer services for the full pipeline from conception, to storyboarding, design, animation, and finally post-production. We are also directors and have worked with other studios and teams, giving creative direction and guiding the story.

Studio Orca directors Ed and Nelly also provide Creative Direction and Animation Consultancy.

Studio Orca work also with companies using AI to create their marketing videos, by offering creative direction and consultancy, providing the creative vision or giving advice/ feedback to a company using their own in house team. It gives a spot that extra level of polish.

How much do you charge?

This really depends on the project and its requirements, scope and style. The best way to find out is to email hello@studio-orca.com with a brief explanation of your project and we can discuss from there. The animation studio is very flexible, so adjustments can easily be made to suit your animation project.

How long does it take to create animation?

This again is very dependent on the requirements of the project. A 15 second hand-drawn 2D animation (like this), for example, would take much longer than a 15 second Motion Graphics animation (like this). The length of your project has a huge effect - generally the longer it is, the longer it will take to make. The best way to find out more about the schedule of an animated project is to email hello@studio-orca.com.
