WHO
Studio Orca is an animation studio founded by Ed Bulmer and Nelly Michenaud.
We are English and French directors and animators coming from a film-making background. That makes us passionate about hunting for stories everywhere around us and digging for the perfect visuals to tell them.
WHAT
We work with 2D, 3D, mixed-media, puppetry - we aren’t shying away from trying new stuff!
Our versatility allows us to be great problem solvers and to tailor the work specifically to the projects needs. It is also a fantastic way to meet and collaborate with very talented people from all over the world when building the perfect team for it.
We have applied and developed these skills on commercials, music videos, documentaries and currently have several long form projects in development.
HOW
Whatever the project is, we first talk, sketch, and research. Our starting point is to listen and connect with you in order to ground a solid communication and understand exactly what you need.
This is fundamental to us as it will assure a smooth sailing during the back and forth of feedback on design and other work in progress stages.
We also choose the most fitting director with their area of expertise and specialisation according to the nature and theme of the project.
Then we assemble a crew of incredibly talented artists to help create the film.
Finally, we export and go off to the pub to debrief and endlessly talk about animation (we’re not joking).
