Studio Orca is a French and English animation studio based in London and Nantes. We create work for broadcasters, brands and agencies as well as develop in-house original IP.

We specialise in 2D animation and mixed media, but also work with CGI, live-action puppetry and motion graphics. The story leads the approach.

We have worked with Netflix, HBO, BBC, and Disney+ as well as leading brands such as GQ, Deliveroo and Sony.

Directors

Animation directors Ed Bulmer and Nelly Michenaud founded Studio Orca after years making award-winning short films, music videos and commercials together.

Their work involves character-led narratives, often with a touch of the surreal and a fascination with the beauty in the mundane. Their films have screened at SXSW, Edinburgh International Animation Festival and London International Animation Festival, among others.

They are currently developing original animated series.
